Why I Love The Brand:
- Pleni Naturals is owned by Allyson, a former aesthetician and mother passionate about nutrition and skincare and how they go hand in hand!
- They are MADE SAFE certified!! I LOVE when brands have certifications to back up their claims and the MADE SAFE certificate just happens to be a top favorite! I’ll hopefully do more posts in the future breaking down all the various certifications…most are honestly bogus, but this one is definitely rigorous!
- They work with an FDA registered lab, surpass the strictest ingredient standards worldwide (i.e EU standards), and they do next level third party testing on not only the raw ingredients but finished products as a whole!
- They are dermatologist tested, allergy tested, vegan, and cruelty free
- For those looking for no synthetic preservatives, Pleni doesn’t use any strong synthetic preservatives. While this typically actually worries me, I’m confident in their rigorous shelf life and microbial testings and the fact that they have the certification to back it up. I’m always happy to find brands doing their due diligence but finding a way to use mostly (or all) natural ingredients! I know many who have sensitivities or try to stay away from certain synthetics, so I Love to find great options to recommend!! For this reason as well, it’s a top rec of mine for products for babies and young kids especially!!
Product Reviews
Berry + Olive Barrier Balm -my favorite product by far!!! I’m actually surprised how much I liked this one. I thought at first “eh, an all purpose balm that’s nice but besides like a really thick hand cream, what will I actually use this for??” EVERYTHING. lol
I’ve now used this as: yes, a really thick hand cream when my hands are dry, but also diaper rash cream, lip balm, healing chapped/ wind blown cheeks or face, minor sunburn after care, when that area under your nose get’s really dry from blowing your nose so much…I’ve put it on that, and last but not least, eczema and rashes!!
I actually found this brand almost a year and a half after my son’s eczema issues, BUT I Have let 3 friends try it on their kids now with various skin problems, including chronic eczema, and it’s worked wonders!!! One baby in particular had very inflamed red eczema spots all over, I gave it to the mom, and by the next morning she texted me to say she was already seeing a huge difference!! It’s also very calming for inflamed skin in general.
It soaks in pretty quickly and only leaves a small residue that kind of “sits” on the skin. Very subtle vanilla scent, pretty thick, and very versatile!! My kids literally ask for it all the time…small scrape on cheek, “mommy I have balm?” Just blew their nose, “balm pleeease!” Changing my youngest’s diaper, “baalllmmm!!!” (he literally gets mad when I tell him he doesn’t need it.) The smallest amount of dry skin anywhere. Balm.
As a diaper rash cream I’d say it’s probably medium duty…not super heavy duty but it does definitely help! Minor diaper rashes definitely got cleared up with this. Once or twice tried it, but it was bad enough I needed something more targeted as a diaper cream specifically.
When it’s getting down to the end, I cut the top half of the bottle off, and store it in an air tight glass container or stasher bag. You’d be AMAZED how much is left and you can salvage!!! I squeezed that stuff to the very end then cut it and it lasted about 2 weeks longer no joke!!
Overall, LOVE. Go buy immediately!
Apple + Broccoli Hair & Body Wash – LOVEEE this clean shampoo and body wash!! It suds up so nicely, is a clear, basic castile soap like consistency, and has a subtle smell of orange. It works really well both on smaller children, but also my four year old with longer hair. I feel like it does a really good job of getting their hair really squeaky clean.
It only takes a little bit (very concentrated) which is really nice!! A nickel size amount is enough to use as both a shampoo and body wash on my two year old boy and more like a quarter amount on my girl with longer hair. (not super thick hair though)
It also works decently well as a bubble bath! The only thing is you have to use a little more of it to really get bubbles. They last a good 15 minutes or so.
Overall, wish it was cheaper but besides that, I really do love it!! I’d feel comfortable using this on an infant as well! (comes in 2, 8, and 16 oz)
Enzyme Cleansing Oil – Pros: Smells amazing!! Like a fruity papaya vanilla smell. It’s very effective at removing all makeup! I use this as my step 1 in my skincare routine (while my face is still dry), wipe off with a warm wash cloth, then I follow up with a good cleanser.
One of my favorite uses for oil cleansers is for removing eye makeup in particular! This oil definitely does a good job at gently removing even mascara. I usually leave it sitting on my lashes for just a second before wiping off.
It’s very gentle, has never irritated my skin at all, and love that it comes in a glass bottle! Easy to unscrew lid and get every last bit out.
Cons: my only complaint is it sort of stings my eyes! I have to keep my eyes closed the whole time when applying all over my face and rubbing eye makeup off. To me that’s a bummer because that’s like the whole point of an oil cleanser lol…obviously doesn’t stop me from still applying to my eyes haha but I’d love it even more if it didn’t sting!!

Day Squad Face Oil – love the addition of this new product!! I think it fits so well into the pleni collection! Ok so a couple things with this one. I have very oily/ combination skin. So this was a bit heavy for me to wear during the day all over my face and then try to put makeup on over it. I tried that a few times and my face felt very heavy and the makeup didn’t sit well at all (even after letting it sit for a while) It really only worked as a day wear oil on just the driest part of the face (my cheeks) and even then I only applied 1 drop per cheek then let it soak in a few minutes!
I will wear this during the day if I’m planning to just wash my face in the morning but not wear any all over face makeup like concealer or foundation. I can wear just mascara with it fine as well. My tinted sunscreen I usually use unfortunately feels a bit heavy to apply after this because this oil acts so much like a moisturizer in of itself.
That’s why I actually like just using this as a night time oil! lol I know that’s technically not what it’s for but it works phenomenally at night for me! I fee like my skin feels brighter and not so tired in the morning and definitely very hydrated haha
If you have drier skin, I feel like this is going to be your best friend!! My cheeks do flake sometimes when I put makeup on, but whenever I applied this before makeup (and let it soak in) that didn’t happen! My face requires very little moisture during the day, so if you’re looking for something more substantial I’d say this is it!!
It smells very earthy (I still oddly like the smell of it though..it is sort of like a tomato haha), is a bright yellow oil, and this also is a glass jar!
Overall, not a go to day wear under makeup but besides that I do like it and will use all of it. If you have more so dry or dull skin buy this ASAP.
