Looking for a safe, nontoxic baby and pregnancy brand? Then you’re going to LOVE this honest Earth Mama review, from one mommy to another! I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to find all natural, organic brands that are affordable, but also work!! That’s why I was SO excited to find this brand!! Check out my earth mama review below.
Earth Mama Brand Review
I had the pleasure of vetting this company by speaking with the founder herself, Melinda Olson. I was impressed with her knowledge and involvement with everything from manufacturing practices to their ingredient sourcing! Happy to report, they meet the “clean living mom criteria”!
Here’s why I love them:
- They have so many third party certifications, including my favorite, certified organic through Oregon Tilth (aka OTCO)! Melinda even said out of all the certifications thy have, OTCO is the most thorough! They also are EWG verified, but that doesn’t mean much to me given I don’t really trust the EWG. (Click to watch my video on that)
- They are all herbal based, naturally derived ingredients…nothing synthetic!
- They use a natural preservation system, no synthetic preservation for anyone that prefers to stay away from that!
- They manufacture everything themselves. This is huge! This ensures high standards are actually being met during the manufacturing process!
- They are AFFORDABLE!!!! This is also huge. haha Also, they are pretty easily accessible. I’ve seen their teas for instance in my local grocery store.
- Made by moms for moms, such practical uses and exactly what you need during pregnancy and postpartum with baby! My pregnancy must haves list contained almost all of these products! haha
Earth Mama Product Reviews
Teas: I LOVE these teas! All tea ingredients are certified organic and tested for contaminations. They also fall under the CA Prop 65 standards. Also, the tea bags don’t leach micro plastics, which is huge. (because most tea bags do) I love the thoughtfulness given to the herbs for each specific tea; it’s exactly what mom needs for different stages! The red raspberry leaf tea I started drinking in my second trimester.
I love how they have a specific third trimester tea; I would do 1 bag of that and 1 bag of the red raspberry mixed together for added benefits. And the milkmaid tea has been great for supporting lactation. In my opinion, it tastes better then the popular Traditional Medicines Mother’s Milk.
Herbal Sitz Bath -I personally used this after giving birth to my 3rd, and also gave it to my sister after the birth of her first baby. I love the herbal smell and the convenient packets it comes in (that don’t leach micro plastics). Love that it’s 100% herbs. Very soothing & healing! I highly recommend this product for any mother who just gave birth!
Perineal Spray – LOVED this product! I went through 2 bottles postpartum! Very instantly cooling and easy to make padsicles with! I also used this spray in my third trimester when everything was very itchy down there (due to hormones…fun) and it helped provide relief! A few sprays would provide relief/cooling for about 30 minutes to an hour or so. This is a must have product!
Perineal Balm -Again, LOVE this product!!! It’s also a must have for vaginal recovery! I was worried the balm would be too thick/tough to apply to such a delicate spot, but it wasn’t! Very beneficial and healing!
If you’re trying to decide between the spray or the balm, think of the spray as a more immediate effect and the balm as a more longer lasting one…and then buy both of them because both are AMAZING! haha
Skin & Scar Balm -I’d recommend this product especially for moms who tore/had a c-section. Great for healing that, very similar to the perineal balm but less “cooling” effect when applied. You could also use for stretch marks!
Baby Wash -very light lavender smell, not overwhelming, very light foamy soap that lathers very well. I can use just 1-2 pumps for all of baby’s body & hair. Very gentle formula, but not tear free! Lasts quite a few months!
Diaper Cream -reminds me of the perineal balm, has a slight soothing/cooling effect when applied. Smells pepperminty, I would say I liked it for sure but have had more luck at clearing major diaper rashes faster with an active zinc oxide ingredient. If you want to stay away from that for some reason though, then this is a great choice!
Nipple Butter -a very gentle, soothing balm for cracked or sore nipples. I would say this was the only product I tried I wasn’t 100% in love with. I don’t feel like it was super “powerful” enough if you will; just good if you need a little something. It has the same consistency as the other balms. I let my sister use it after her first & it helped her a bit but didn’t make a huge difference.
Overall, really love and recommend trying this brand!! Seriously Earth Mama has become a go to brand I trust, use and recommend to many!!
